How are we? Delicate? Are we having too much fun this christmas weekend?
Yep, it’s that time of year again, the final countdown. The time when we are all running around like headless chickens trying to shop, wrap, cook, eat, drink, party and relax and make the most of the festivities, all whilst continuing our daily lives (kids, work etc).
Now there are a number of songs that make up the theme tune to this period. And by “a number” I mean millions. Literally. For every one song song you have twelve covers, three remixes and a radio edit. Not forgetting the LIVE versions 🤷🏼♀️
Music can be a powerful source entertainment, nostalgia, emotion and fun. So how do you pick just 5? Well i gave it a go ... that’s right. My Top Five for Day Five is:
Favourite Christmas Songs
1. Mariah Carey - All I Want For Christmas
Had to be in there right? It’s the all time best cheesy 80s pop singalong tracks Doesn’t get much better.
2. Judy Garland - Have Yourself A Merry Christmas
My favourite version of this song. I love a classic and this hits all my festive feels. Judy’s voice is incredible also.
3. Wham - Last Christmas
4. Nat King Cole - The Christmas Song
5. Bing Crosby - White Christmas
My all time favourite. Favourite film, favourite song, favourite version. I have so many special memories associated with this song. I literally grew up watching it. Bing Crosby seems to always have been always been apart of my life and I’ve said for a decade how he reminds me of my Grandad - with his once blonde combed-over hair do and piecing blue eyes ❤️!! Its the first Christmas song I play and probably the last too
