Top Five ... Day Four
Hi Gang.
Happy Fri’yay 🥳 have we all broken up for Christmas? Or are you like me and working all weekend AND Christmas Day?
Not to worry. I have another Top Five daily treat for you. Today it’s:
CHRISTMAS FILMS THAT AREN’T REALLY CHRISTMAS FILMS
Yep, we watch them every year. They give us that festive feeling. But they actually have nothing to do with Christmas ...
- Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone
A must watch at Christmas time. For no other reason then It’s effin’ magical. Period.
2. Serendipity
New York City. The home of many a Christmas Movie. Ice Skating in Central Park, shopping at the big department stores with big brown bags, that Rockefeller tree. Add a little snowfall and twinkling lights and we’ve got ourselves the perfect seasonal backdrop to a romantic movie. Just not this movie. Yeah, despite all those things, it’s not actually set at Christmas (apart from the first 5 minutes, which don’t count)
Just a few pics from my trips to NYC. Including Serendipity 3 - the restaurant/cafe in the movie. My sister refused to go in for Frozen Hot Chocolate and I still haven’t really forgiven her ...
3. Frozen
I mean ... snow, ice, reindeer and snowmen, romance, magic - seems like a pretty traditional Christmas film so far right? But this Disney favourite is actually set in summer. I know, I forgot too 🤷🏼♀️. But the beautiful animation on the winter wonderland Elsa creates, plus Olaf being seriously adorable, gives me all the festive feels.
4. Bridget Jones Diary
Did it come out Christmas maybe? Is it just always on TV at Christmas? Or is it just because it starts and finishes with Bridget’s Christmas Day antics? Either way it seems to be a good movie to watch with a mince pie wrapping gifts or with your family eating your New Years Day turkey curry.
5. Chronicles of Narnia - The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe
It’s literally my answer for Harry Potter and Frozen combined. Plus Liam Neeson as Aslan is the best 🦁
The Lamppost Christmas ornament I forced my mum to buy
Honourable Mentions:
* Wizard of Oz - it is on EVERY Christmas. And I love it
Ruby Slippers on the Chatsworth House Christmas Tree 🎄 2018 ❤️
*Lord of the Rings Trilogy - what even is Christmas without a big Hollywood fantasy movie?
*The Hobbit Trilogy - as above. Well, we need something to do whilst eating/drinking/being merry
That’s all folks.
Is there any I’ve missed? Do you agree with my list??
Let me know below and make sure you are back tomorrow for day five
❤️
xoxo
