Charlottes wedding day, and the day before one of the worst hangovers ever - totally worth it tho. We had the BEST day celebrating. January 2014

Hey gang!

As is, my now two month, tradition, I am continuing my 1st Friday of the month chat. This time round I’ve roped my mate Charlotte into helping. Basically I’m asking my mates the same few questions because I think they are the best people to tell you about me and how I handle living with M.E/CFS

So, Charlotte. I first met Charlotte on our first day of college aged 16, or at least in our first media lesson. I remember complimenting her hotmail account name for its love of Queen, coz who doesn’t love Freddie Mercury. Turns out most of our classes were together and, despite my then chronic social awkwardness, we became firm friends. 

Over a decade of friendship has seen many ups and downs in our life and I’d say we have each other’s backs. We’ve gone through so much together, except my ER boxset - which we started 4years ago and are only halfway through season 3 ... Of 15 🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️. It’s a good job we are friends for life.

How long have we known each other?: 12 years

How would you describe me?: incomparable

How would you describe our friendship?: Indestructible

What is your favourite memory of us?: chasing thunderstorms in the early hours in Bournemouth

How do you think M.E/CFS has changed me?: it’s debilitated you

Can you tell when I’m having a good/bad day?: Most of the time however on really bad days we wouldn’t see each other

Did you know about M.E/CFS before my diagnosis?: I knew only bits due to my Gran having M.E but never knew the full extent

Have I taught you anything about M.E/CFS?: Lots. It’s so much more than being “tired”

What is one thing you still don’t understand about M.E/CFS?: why they haven’t found a better way of treating it yet 😞 

What do you wish others knew about M.E/CFS?: that it’s more than being tired, it’s more than being “anti-social” - it’s debilitating and changes people beyond that persons control.

Lastly I asked Charlotte to share some of her favourite photos of the two of us. There are hundreds to pick from but these are some of the best ones ❤️ 

Hogwarts is my happy place. It’s even better with her 🤓⚡️😍. Here we’re in theGreat Hall, and great it is. I’m obsessed with Harry Potter and so I found the studio tour INCREDIBLE. It opened the year I moved to Watford, but that was also the year Charlotte pushed out her first little human, so she never got to go. As Christmas presents to each other, we had little trip in February 2017 and must be repeated ASAP!!!
