Top Five ... Day One
SURPRISE!!
Yes gang, it’s true. Christmas has come early and I’m hitting you with not one but two posts in ONE DAY ... that’s better than the last three months combined 😂
Now, since the festive season is upon us I’ve decided to start a new feature called “Top Five” and, in case you hadn’t already guessed it, I’ll share my Top Five choices on a particular subject. And as a extra extra special treat for you all, I’ll be doing one Top Five post EVERYDAY for the next week.
So as it’s the last week before Christmas, the season of giving, my first Top Five is:
GIFTS THAT GIVE BACK!!
Whilst presents and fancy things are lovely it’s great to be able to buy a gift that does more then check off your shopping list. I’ve rounded up my five picks of gifts that do good for the community too.
1. Vivienne Westwood “SAVE THE RAINFOREST” T-Shirt £25
If you saw that banned Iceland advert then, like me, you want to help save the rainforest and the wildlife that call it home. How we’ve become so blind to global deforestation I’m not sure, but little measures like reducing your palm oil consumption, signing local/national petitions or even, for the more adventurous, volunteering abroad in the rainforest rescue centres. As a gift, this t-shirt does a hell of a lot more then just cover you up ... designer clobber, at an affordable price, that helps the environment - its a no brainier right?

2. The Giving Keys
Now if you are as obsessed with Lauren Paul as I am, you’ll know all about this brand, as she is has often posting instagram pics of these products. Lauren is an entrepreneur herself - setting up the Kind Campaign, an organisation that travels the world educating girls on the importance of kindness, honesty, friendship, hard-work, dreams and achievements. She’s not only married to my favourite drug dealer, Aaron Paul (aka Jesse Pinkman from Breaking Bad), but she is a friend and supporter of The Giving Keys founder and CEO, Caitlin Crosby.
The Giving Keys is so simple - take old, unwanted Keys, make them into beautiful jewellery and employ/encourage/support the homeless. Simple, effective and stylish.

3. Make a Donation
This, I guess, is the equivalent of giving a gift voucher. But I personally think that a donation in the name of, or on behalf of someone else is a really thoughtful gesture - Especially if it’s a cause close to their hearts. You can sponsor puppies as they begin training to be guide dogs, you can give money to international aid, you can donate the equivalent of one years school supplies or mosquito blankets or support your local charities and non-profit organisations. There are plenty of charity stationary, calendars and soft toys available. Not only that but you can involve charity fundraising into your Christmas parties with donations made for bake sales, Christmas jumper days and collecting gifts for local children.
4. The Body Shop
Now, I’m sure we’ve all bought something from The Body Shop once in our lives. Whether for us or as a gift, this British high street staple is always full of delicious smelling and ethically sourced toiletries. You can smell, look and feel great knowing that your money is going towards fighting animal testing, modern slavery and domestic abuse and supporting female empowerment, local wildlife and their natural habitats and fair trading standards. Not bad, huh?

5. Volunteer
So not necessarily a gift you can wrap, but for me Christmas is all about spending time with the people you love. It’s about the time you spend together not the time you spent in town buying a present. So grab your nearest and dearest and donate your time to a worthy cause. You can go carol singing at a nursing home, serve food at a homeless shelter, give blood, donate old clothing to charity shops and old bedding to animal shelters.
Perhaps, you’d rather do your small act of kindness closer to home. Visit your elderly neighbours to make sure they are warm, have food and have company over the festive period. Buy a drink for another customer at a coffee shop, bake for a local Christmas Fete or host your own local Christmas party to put some festive cheer back into the community.
So, there we have my 5 picks. Let me know what you think - have you done any of these? Do you have any other suggestions? Let me know in the comments below. I’ll be back tomorrow with Day Two of my Top Five ...
Merry Christmas Gang
❤️
xoxo
